Therefore, along with the basic development of Spanish, English and French, skills will be introduced to allow each child to excel in their preparedness for higher grade levels. | In preschool it is vital to introduce the basics of learning. At CLCS, a strong program of reading readiness and basic math is incorporated into each day along with a certified preschool course of study. Every subject taught is designed to encourage and challenge each child. Our desire is that every child has an experience to explore new things and have an opportunity to develop an excitement about learning. It is important that they are able to see God working in their lives. |
| An Exciting Arts and Music Program |
| Within every child lies a gift that only God can give. At CLCS, we believe every child should have the opportunity to explore and express their gifts through art, music and drama. Opportunities to explore learning a variety of musical instruments along with singing and choir will be available. Children will participate in skits and drama and will experience the theatre through movies and music. Every child will be encouraged to express the gift that God has given them. |
| CLCS will participate in programs that are sponsored by organizations both here in the Dominican Republic and the United States. There are many opportunities for schools to submit various forms of artwork for display. We believe that CLCS will be a catalyst of hope and encouragement in Monte Cristi as the people see the children grow and learn. CLCS will also be a catalyst of hope and encouragement in the United States with sister schools that will partner with us in bringing children together through cultural differences and the world together for Jesus! |

community. Each month, offerings that are received in each class
are gathered and then distributed to someone chosen that has a
need. Both teachers and students participate and it allows the
children a first hand experience to apply what they have learned.

students an opportunity to interact with
people from a different culture and practice

hoping to begin a program for teachers that
will commit one month or more working at

| City of Light Christian School or La Ciudad de Luz (in Spanish) is located in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic. Currently we have 130 students in preschool, kindergarten and grades 1 through 4 and a staff of 11 teachers. Classes are held in the morning and afternoon and are taught by certified Dominican teachers. Every teacher and staff member is dedicated to the spiritual, emotional and physical well being of every student. |
